Vign09(20161226) Indians From Germany (9 of 15)
During our teenage years we have watched many Hollywood-style movies based at Fenimore Cooper's novels with cowboys and Indians, made by 'Studio DEFA' from German Democratic Republic (GDR), starred mainly by Goyko MItich [g'Oiko m'Itich], from former Yugoslavia, actor-sportsman of Serbian nationality, who have been usually called 'The Chief Indian of the USSR' :). I remember him as: Chingachguk, Ulsana, Tekumseh etc.
The main reason of demonstrating us multiple DEFA movies from GDR with fake German apaches and comanches is the following: GDR had been easily controllable from Moscow. Oppressed Indians (i.e. working class) vs evil capitalists (i.e. cowboys) - hope you notice the signs of hidden communist propaganda here.
One more example of propaganda.

Jazz listeners had been officially declared 'ideological enemies' and their lives were 'incompatible with the socialist way of life'.
Quoted phrases had been used officially. Here they are:
Кто сегодня любит джаз, завтра Родину продаст
(Those who love jazz today, will sell the Motherland tomorrow) ?!
От саксофона до ножа – один шаг
(There’s only single step from saxophone to the knife, i.e. jazz musicians are very much like criminals).
